Context
Ormeau Park was built by the Belfast Corporation, on land formerly owned by the Donegall family, in 1871. It was laid out by Timothy Hevey, a successful, young Belfast architect.
Ormeau Park house was built in 1878 for the Park Superintendent at a cost of £645. It is located near the centre of the park and was built with its own garden, yard and outbuildings.
